The Northcall Inn attack

The Northcall Inn attack occurs on the adventurers’ first evening in Sestone. After speaking with Kronko, the party returns to Arid’s inn for food and lodging. Arid goes to fetch stew, then flees the kitchen when two mutated creatures enter.

The attackers resemble Harold’s transformed condition. Both have tentacled hands; one also has tentacles emerging from its belly, while the other has large tusks beneath its jaw. Malcius opens the fight with Thunderwave, and Thormir restrains both with Entangle. One attacker poisons Malcius with a spit attack. Tentacle attacks grapple Thormir and later Sefi.

Todd lands the killing blows on both creatures with his daggers after the group weakens them. Their blood is described as dark reddish-black. The bodies carry clubs but reveal no useful identification, and Arid does not recognize either attacker.

In the aftermath, Arid reveals his daughter Solsta is missing. The party promises to search for her, receives free lodging and rests before the planned island crossing.
