The rune-marked giant

A huge dark-green, rune-marked giant emerges through a purple portal near Jimbo's farm and directs four gnolls toward the livestock. Its precise species and name remain unconfirmed.

Theron and Zephyr

Theron and Zephyr are Beckinsdale residents whose missing valuables feature in the burglary investigation. Captain Landis says they have family in Aldenhold, offering a possible reason for their absence without confirming their location.

Thormir Moonsight

Thormir Moonsight is a dwarf druid of The Unfated Ones, about four feet tall. Moonsight is an earned title associated with his ability to see moonstones beyond their usual lunar visibility, rather than an established hereditary surname.

Todd Van Wyk

Todd Van Wyk is an eighty-six-year-old half-elf rogue with developing warlock magic and a member of The Unfated Ones. He wears a red mask fused to his face and has significant gaps in his memory. His earlier travels included archaeological work and discovering a petrified rat called Ninkilim.

Todd in the moonless woods

Unable to recover Shala or obtain the answers he needs, Todd leaves Southreach alone. In the woods he notices signs of being followed.

Tree

Tree, affectionately Little Tree, is Thormir's green-and-gold essence mote. It develops the appearance of a rotating miniature World Tree and is distinct from the summoned badger Rend.

Ulfwin Turval

Ulfwin Turval is the nobleman who governs Sestone. The introductory narration describes him as fair, just, and respected, though he rarely mingles with townspeople. He oversees trade taxes and business relations.

Velvet Hearse

The Velvet Hearse is a shop outside Aldenhold with secondhand jewelry, curiosities and a less public rear trading area. Its contents suggest questionable provenance without identifying every item as stolen.

Wayfarer's Pack

The Wayfarer's Pack is a general store outside Aldenhold run by a dwarf. Todd sells recovered mundane goods here for four hundred gold. This transaction is separate from his gauntlet sale at the Velvet Hearse.

Winter Lunar Festival

The Winter Lunar Festival at Moonstone features visitors, trade, games, music and the spectacle of moonlight making the mountains' moonstones glitter. The party experiences it in Rory's constructed trial.

Zaharel

Zaharel is an exiled druid of the Monosis circle. The party finds her administering preparations to a captive in the laboratory beneath Aelmor. Malcius charms her and learns that Guthber has coerced her by threatening her former circle's hidden sanctuary.
