Guthber

Guthber is Helest's brother and a figure in Sestone's early investigation of transformed townspeople. Early reports about the mutations conflict; those accounts remain distinct from later discoveries.

Helest says Guthber became obsessed with the Hand of Narkul. Zaharel identifies him as directing prisoner tests near the Aelmor rift and coercing her through threats against the Monosis.

He impersonates Solsta to hurry the party toward danger, then threatens the real Solsta during the chapel fight. A dark presence leaves Todd's petrified rat and enters Guthber. His altered body escapes through the rift. This is not a witnessed ordinary death, nor does it make his original personality interchangeable with the possessing force.

Rory later connects the presence and the petrified rat with the Dragon King. Earlier episode accounts should retain what the party actually knew at that point.
