Helest

Helest is Guthber's brother, a researcher who helps people around Sestone. Jameson credits him with support after Rufus's death. The party finds Helest exhausted in Aelmor Library, unsuccessfully trying to reverse a man's transformation.

He explains his misgivings about Guthber's pursuit of the Hand of Narkul. His traveling companion Orrin, one of Gregor's workers, died after helping him escape an attack. The library patient later dies despite Helest's efforts.

After the rescue, Helest debriefs the party, demonstrates one of Harold's magical beans and gives them the Monosis Folio of the Sea. Malcius and Sefi publicly defend him against suspicions.

When the party returns from Moonstone, he identifies several magical objects and agrees to research the stranger connections surrounding Todd's mask and void magic. His theories are not a completed cure or a definitive explanation.
